Edvard Grieg (1843–1907) was a central figure of Scandinavian Romanticism and a leading representative of Norwegian national music. His works combine the harmonic language of Romanticism with elements inspired by Norwegian folk tradition, creating a distinctive musical voice marked by lyricism and clarity of expression.
