Georg Philipp Telemann (1681–1767) was one of the most prolific and versatile composers of the Baroque era. A contemporary of Bach and highly esteemed in his lifetime, he composed across virtually all musical genres, playing a central role in shaping German and European Baroque style.
His output includes operas, oratorios, sacred and secular cantatas, orchestral works, and concertos, characterized by stylistic flexibility, melodic inventiveness, and a keen sensitivity to different national idioms. The following is a representative selection of his most significant compositions.
